Elle a choisie avec soin sa toile de lin, tissée très finement, et ses fils de soie, qui se trouvent aisément à Salon, en raison de l'implantation de filatures. Justine possède différentes couleurs, dans les tons ocre, brun et vert, mais elle a aussi du bleu et du rouge, qui lui permettent de rehausser les couleurs de son ouvrage et de mettre certains motifs en valeurs. Elle joue avec les motifs et les couleurs, ce qui fait de son marquoir un marquoir unique, bien qu'elle suive un modèle.
